Project
Brothers Meethouse

Located in downtown Bentonville, Brothers Meethouse transforms an existing structure through adaptive reuse, reinforcing the building’s original framework while introducing new use as a vibrant barbecue destination. Structural interventions focused on strengthening the existing block walls, and restructuring the roof allowing the building to support updated mechanical systems and expanded occupancy while preserving the character of the original shell. The design embraces the honesty of the existing structure, exposing key elements and layering in durable, utilitarian materials suited to a high-energy hospitality environment.
The interior concept extends the ethos of reuse, incorporating salvaged wood crates and pallets to form the back bar and feature walls, echoing the approachable, low-brow aesthetic rooted in traditional barbecue culture. This approach creates a welcoming atmosphere that balances grit with intentional design, reinforcing the authenticity of the dining experience. Paired with flexible indoor-outdoor gathering spaces and game-oriented amenities, the project delivers a lively, communal environment that reflects both the spirit of Arkansas barbecue and the evolving character of downtown Bentonville.
