Warrior's Journey

The Warrior’s Journey (TWJ) partnered with BUF to transform an existing bank building into their new headquarters in Springfield, MO. This strategic infill project provided TWJ with a permanent anchor point in a prime location, transitioning from leased space to an owned facility. The next phase included an addition which expanded their operational footprint by 2,100 square feet, incorporating new office spaces and a training room.

The design approach focused on creating a welcoming environment for veterans seeking support. Soft materials and warm accent trim were incorporated throughout, particularly in the entry area, to establish an inviting atmosphere for those accessing TWJ’s services. While exterior modifications were kept minimal with selective painting, the interior received thoughtful updates to ensure a comfortable and supportive environment.

This facility serves as the base for TWJ’s crucial mission of supporting military personnel dealing with invisible injuries from their service. Their comprehensive approach includes prevention, crisis intervention, and ongoing support, all delivered through a personalized and confidential framework. The impact of their work is significant – in 2022 alone, TWJ reached 190,000 warriors and military leaders. This new headquarters will enhance their ability to continue and expand their invaluable support services for the military community.
